Products

1. What does Minky sell?
We sell Minkster designer USB 2.0 flashdrives. Each flashdrive is sealed in a neat box with an info card. The flashdrives are preloaded with a notebook containing free icons, a wallpaper, shuffle puzzle and cool paper toy for your enjoyment!

Minkster designer USB flashdrives and notebooks are Mac and PC friendly. Please note that these flashdrives are not toys which means they are unsuitable for children under the age of ten. If you happen to have young children, good luck trying to convince them otherwise...

2. Help! How do I add products to my shopping cart?
Adding Minky goodies to your shopping cart is easy. Just click on the product that you would like to purchase and look for the red "add" button in the popup window. You can also login or register and you will see the “add” button on each product’s information window once you have clicked on the item. After choosing your products you can proceed to the checkout where you can amend your basket of items. Register here if you don’t already have an account.

Payment
1. What are my payment options?
You can make secure online payments via PayFast, our e-commerce partners. South African customers have the following payment options:
   1. Credit card (
MasterCard & Visa)
   2. Debit card (MasterCard & Visa cards with an expiry date and a 3-digit CVC/CVV number on the back)
   3. Instant EFT (Absa, FNB, Nedbank & Standard Bank)
   4. 
Ukash
   5. PayFast voucher.

If you have internet banking and prefer this method of payment, write to us at "shop@minky.co.za" and tell us what you would like to order. We will then reply ASAP with our payment details and confirm your shipping arrangements.

International customers have the following payment options:

2. What about good, old-fashioned cash?
If you live in Cape Town, South Africa, or are passing through you can contact us to arrange collection and make a cash payment upon receipt of your goodies. That way you don't need to order through this website.

3. How does PayFast work?
Once you have finalised your order and you are ready to pay:
   1. You will be directed to the secure PayFast website.
   2. Choose your payment option (see above) and make the payment.
   3. You will be redirected back to the Minky website. Easy-peezy!
   4. PayFast will email you a confirmation of payment.
   5. We will email you an invoice confirming your transaction.

4. What information do I need to give PayFast?
Like any other online payment service, PayFast needs to know who is using their service. However, all they require upon registration is your name, surname and email address.

5. Does Minky or PayFast store my credit/debit card information?
We (Minky) don’t need to see or store this information. PayFast stores most, but not all, of your credit/debit card information – your card’s security code (CVC/CVV code) is not stored by PayFast, for instance, and must be manually entered by you upon each purchase. If you wish, you can register your credit/debit card details with PayFast to speed up your shopping experience on your next Minky visit.

6. Is PayFast secure?
It sure is. PayFast encrypts all communication to and from its server, including your sensitive card information in its database. PayFast also offers 3D Secure to protect your credit/debit card against unauthorised use when you shop online.

Shipping

1. How much does international shipping cost?
International shipping costs R130.00. Yeah!

2. Can I collect my order instead of having it shipped?
Yip. If you are in Cape Town, South Africa, you can arrange to collect your order. Contact us, tell us what blows your hair back and pay cash in South African Rand (ZAR) upon collecting your order.

3. Where will my order be shipped to?
We ship counter-to-counter according to the address you specify on this website. You need to enter your shipping address on the Registration page. You can update these details on the Checkout page during your shopping spree.

4. What does “counter-to-counter” mean?
“Counter-to-counter” means that your order will be shipped to your nearest post office. Your friendly postmaster should contact or notify you once your order has arrived. When that happens, drop whatever you’re doing and sprint over there to collect your order.

5. When will my order be shipped?
As soon as we receive confirmation from PayFast that your transaction was successful and the payment reflects in our account. This is usually super fast. Orders are shipped Monday to Friday and most Saturdays. Unfortunately we cannot ship orders on Sundays or public holidays because that’s playtime.

6. How soon will my order arrive?
If you're in Cape Town and arrange collection, you can get your order within 24/48 hours. Bonus! Shipping within the Republic of South Africa (RSA) takes about 3 – 5 working days from the time we ship your order. International shipping takes about 7 – 14 working days.

7. Does Minky offer any other shipping options?
We can suggest a reputable courier for you upon request. Please contact us directly before making your purchase so we can get in touch and give you a cost estimate as to what the courier costs will be. You will have to pay these courier costs upon delivery (i.e. C.O.D – cash on delivery).

8. Does Minky ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally. Just like local orders, international orders are shipped counter-to-counter. Simply enter the correct details on the order form and we’ll take care of it.

9. What if my package doesn’t arrive or is opened or damaged?
We ensure that every order is packed with care and contains exactly what you ordered and paid for. Your order will be shipped via the South African Post Office (SAPO) – or a reputable courier if you don’t mind spending a little extra – and includes a tracking number. We will email this tracking number to you so you can keep an eye on your precious cargo’s progress online.

Since we rely on a third party for shipping, we cannot guarantee delivery. If your package doesn’t arrive or arrives opened or damaged and you are in South Africa, contact SAPO (or the courier service). If you are outside of South Africa, contact the relevant shipping service and make them live to regret it. Please inform us if this happens so we can shake a stick at the offending party. We want happy customers, so we need to know if there are any problems.

Returns and refunds

1. Can I return my order?
Much care has been taken to accurately describe and present the products offered. You will therefore know what you are buying after browsing this website, agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, and concluding your purchase. We therefore don’t accept returns.

2. There’s something wrong with my flashdrive. Can I return it now?
Minkster designer USB flashdrives have passed numerous quality checks during production, and we inspect each one before shipping to ensure that it meets your expectations upon arrival/collection.

You have seven (7) calendar days after collecting your order to test your flashdrive and confirm that it’s in working order. In the highly unlikely event that your flashdrive is defective, please contact us pronto so we can attempt to resolve the matter. The original Minkster packaging, info card and the invoice that was given or emailed to you must be returned/emailed together with the flashdrive, at your own cost. After we've inspected the flashdrive and confirmed that there is indeed a problem, we will gladly replace it and ship it to you at no additional cost.

Minkster flashdrives have a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty excludes damage caused by failure to properly eject the flashdrive or by typical wear and tear, abuse, tampering, moisture, extreme temperatures or accident. Please keep your invoice because we’ll need this to confirm the exact details of your order. Remember, we cannot offer a solution if we’re not aware of the problem.

Privacy

1. Does Minky collect my information?
Yes, but not like a crazed stalker would. We respect your privacy and we don’t share or sell our customer details to third parties, so sleep tight.

2. What information does Minky collect?
The usual stuff like IPs. If you see something you like and make a purchase, we will collect your name, date of birth (so we can send you a little something), email, contact number and shipping details.

3. What does Minky do with this information?
Keep you happy, of course. We also use this info to track transactions on our website and notify you when there’s exciting news or promotions. Sign up for Minky Mail on our Fanclub page and try it out. We promise not to spam you, and will only include the peeps who have actually signed up (via a double opt-in).

1. The Minky website looks weird on my computer. Why?
This website is best viewed in full-screen mode. If you are experiencing problems it could be due to various factors such as the size of your browser window and/or your browser settings or resolution.

3. What’s a Minky?
Minkys are the curious, sometimes shy little creatures who created and now maintain the Minkyverse. No one really knows where they came from, but they’re not terribly demanding and seem to work well without too much supervision. We acknowledge that the booming Minky population looks like a cloning experiment gone wild, but they assure us that they are all unique.

4. What’s an urk?
We’re glad you asked. The Minksters (Dizi, Lex, Nik, Poppy, Pums and Rics) all have urks! Urks are close friends of the Minksters who love to play almost as much as we do. They are as adorable as they are mischievous.

5. Who’s behind the Minky website?
You know, it takes an entire village and heaps of patience to raise one urk. While this website’s not nearly as complicated as an urk, it did require a fair deal of skill and patience. Respect to
Rudolf Lamprecht and Edwil Jonas (the developers), and the Minkys of course.
